A recently released Muslim youth, Nurul Huda of Malegaon, Maharashtra, narrates his heart-rending story, saying that the Anti-Terrorist Squad mistook him for a person named Noor. The latter was wanted in Malegaon bomb blast. The police forced him behind the bar for five years for a fault of their own. He says on his release that the police continued torturing him physically and mentally until he signed the confession letter prepared by them as it was the only way to get rid of their atrocities. He states, “The Investigating Officers always took a jibe on him and said; you cannot carry out any bomb blast. Can you?” Having been tortured for a long time in police custody, Huda has been suffering from severe body pain as, according to doctors, his nervous system has received several damages.
