SOROOR AHMED lashes at Israeli imprudence of attacking the Freedom Flotilla which may leave it friendless.

The dastardly attack on Turkish flotilla is the latest in the series of the Great Betrayals for which the Jews, as a community, are notorious for. They harassed, disobeyed and even killed prophets who came to rescue them from slavery. They connived with their enemies to crucify their benefactors. They claim to be the Chosen People, but what they did to Moses is known to all. Regarding their opposition to Jesus the less said is the better.

So the storming of Turkish ships by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s commandos did not come as any big surprise to anyone who keeps a watch on their history. If there is one nation, which can be credited most for the survival of the race of Bene Israel today; it is the Turks – perhaps even more than Arabs. In over eight centuries of relationship the Turks never harmed Jews. In fact they were protected, sheltered and given freedom by the Mamluk, Seljuk and Ottoman rulers – all Turks. This notwithstanding the fact that they were dead against Islam.

Before them the Arabs too were quite tolerant towards them. After Jerusalem became a part of Islamic empire in 637-38 AD Khalifa Umar allowed 70 Jewish families to return and live there. The Jews were hunted out of this Holy City by the earlier Christian and pagan rulers. And they continued to get the similar treatment by the same Christian rulers in Europe till 1945 and even later.

Yet, like all the cowards, the Zionists chose to stab in the back a nation, which still has diplomatic relationship with Tel Aviv and which has always given protection to them in the past. The Jews can never, in the wildest imagination, dream of taking revenge against their ‘new friends’ – the Christianised imperialist powers of the West – who indulged in their systematic ethnic cleansing.

Instead they targeted Turkey – which like Iran till 1979––had a good relationship with Israel. Turkey, along with Iran, was in the American camp till sometimes back. Unlike Iran, Turkey is still essential for the American interest in Middle East and Eastern European theatres, yet by their sheer foolhardiness the Israelis have spoiled all the US plans.
Turks, who after the great Arab treachery of the World War-I days – the latter rebelled and helped UK and France snatch Jerusalem from the Muslim Ottomans – were never bothered about the fate of Palestine. It is only the repeated barbarity by the Israelis on Arabs and emergence of Islamic movement in that country that the Turk-Arab relationship got restored. The degree of cooperation could be measured from the fact that as high as 700 volunteers, mainly from Turkey, gathered to take 10,000 tonnes of humanitarian aid material for the beleaguered people of Gaza.

The coming closer of two emerging regional powers reminded one of the Abbasid era when the Turks dominated the army and the Persians the civil service. In fact the Turks, along with the local Arabs, were instrumental in fighting almost all the Crusades when the Baghdad Caliphate grew weak.

The Christian Crusaders were not only against the Muslims but also against the Jews, whom they wanted to wipe out from the surface of the earth because of their role in the “Crucifixion” of Jesus Christ.

Now the equation has changed only slightly. Today the Crusaders of the West have the Jews as their allies. And, of late, unlike the front-line Arab countries, whose lands Israelis have occupied, it is countries like Turkey and Iran, who are openly coming to the rescue of people of the region. Sometimes back Israelis intercepted an Iranian vessel meant for Gaza. These two countries have no land dispute with the Zionist state yet they are opposing its evil designs.

The Jews boast that they are rulers of the world – and some Muslims too get carried away by their tall claim – yet the latest attack have exposed their stupidity. At this point of history whenborderless war has become a reality and the United States is growing more and more isolated the Israelis went on to provoke Turkey, which now has a very good relationship with Iran and the Arabs.

Literally by one stroke of idiocy they have harmed themselves more than any other step in the recent history. They have paid for their foolishness in the past yet they have not learnt the necessary lesson. They perhaps failed to anticipate how dear the attack would prove to them in future.

True the Jews have never attacked any Christian country or people, as they never had any state till May 14, 1948. Yet there is one instance in which they had attacked none else but the USS Liberty, the warship belonging to none else but their Master, the United States of America, on whose help they are surviving. Thirty-four American naval officers and personnel were killed and 171 injured in that bombardment which was carried on for hours.

This incident took place on June 8, 1967 at the height of the Six Day War with Arabs. The US ship was targeted in the international water and not far away from where the Turkish ship was raided on May 31, 2010.

The Israelis called the attack on Liberty a mistake but many top US intelligence officials, diplomats, war veterans, Congressmen refused to accept it. Paul Findley, a former Republican Congressman, wrote about it in great details in his book “They Dare to Speak Out.”

But the US government accepted the Israeli explanation and buried the matter and till date it remains the only major maritime incident in US history not investigated by the Congress.
While the one explanation was that the Israelis wanted to ‘teach’ the Americans a lesson as the latter played some role in bringing to a halt the combined attack of Israel, Britain and France on Suez Canal, after General Nasser of Egypt nationalised it in 1956. So the attack on the Liberty was a sort of warning to keep Americans away from the scene.

But there is another possible explanation. The manner in which the US administration agreed to the Israeli version of confusion and mistake only confirms that the attack was stage-managed, and had a secret green signal from the US administration.

The Israelis were allowed to attack Liberty as the US establishment wanted to pretend that it is for peace in the region and Israel is beyond its control. At the same time the Americans wanted to give a signal to the then Soviet Union that it should not intervene in the troubled waters of Mediterranean Sea and Suez Canal. So the Israeli attack was just a signal to Moscow not to show extra enthusiasm in the Middle East affairs as Egypt in particular was tilted towards it.

The 34 US naval personnel who died became the unacknowledged cannon-fodder of the great evil design of ‘Christian Zionists.’ It sounds strange, nevertheless is a reality.
