Translating The Dream Into Reality

The moment I read the cover story (Radiance Viewsweekly, 16-22 December 2012) on the current political situation in Egypt, every point came clear to my mind. I ask those who blame President Mohamed Morsi for his decree what is wrong in it if he tries to translate the public dream into reality. Mubarak ruled the country for nearly 30 years and changed all the machineries into his favor including judiciary. Now it needs someone who could transform the machinery completely and start from the scratch by taking all the necessary power in one’s hand and I think Morsi is doing the same job.

Besides, his decree is not forever. It would stand cancelled as soon as the new constitution comes into effect. Also, he has a genuine reason for this as “It was feared that the Supreme Constitutional Court, a legacy of Hosni Mubarak’s regime, might disband the Shoura Council and effectively block the drafting of the constitution.”
