The dream of Kishanganj Centre of the Aligarh Muslim University’s project brightened up by the offer of the required 250 acres of contiguous land by the Bihar Government.
The Bihar Government has identified the available land in four places in the village, Petbhari, Mohamari, Dhanpura, Deramari and Kumhian in the Thakurgunj, Kochadhaman and Dighalbank sub-division of Kishanganj-Bahadurganj highway. The Ministry of Human Resource Development of Government of India has asked the University to select a suitable site and take a decision and submit a feasibility report. A high-powered team led by the AMU Vice Chancellor, Prof. P. K. Abdul Azis will be visiting Kishanganj very soon to select a suitable site and discuss other relevant issues with the district offices.
AMU Vice Chancellor, Prof. P.K. Abdul Azis was happy to share that the government of Maharashtra has also decided to establish AMU Centre in the state. Thus two more new centres of AMU will be established in near future on the same line as Murshidabad and Malappuram centres. It is noted that AMU Centres in Murshidabad in West Bengal and Malappuram in Kerala have already become functional with the transfer of land and establishment of AMU Centres as per the Acts and Statutes of the University and in accordance with the permission of Visitor under Statute 12(2).
