Two RSS men were killed while making bombs at Athyarkavu temple in Cheruvancherry village in Panur, Kerala on November 10. Those killed were RSS karyavahak Kanhan Pradeepan (38) and another worker Lalaveetil Dili alias Dileesh(35). Pradeepan was awaiting verdict in another blast case on November 14. The impact of the blast was such that their bodies were blown to pieces. Burnt human flesh and mutilated organs were strewn in and around a well near the temple. Parts of the body of Pradeepan had to be scooped out of the well. Locals who rushed to the spot could find only the charred remains of the bodies. According to the police the two men were killed while making bombs. Reliable sources say the RSS workers were killed while shifting the bombs, kept in a hedge near the temple, to another place. The police sources, however, refused to confirm this version. The IG (North) V Shantaram hinted that more bombmaking workshops were operating in the area. Locals fear the RSS men were storing explosives for a fresh bout of violence ahead of the verdict. The CPM(M) was quick to blame the RSS and BJP for instigating violence in Kannur. Violence between CPI(M) and BJP workers had left seven people dead in March this year.
