Abdul Aziz Al Ghurair, Speaker of the Federal National Council said the UAE will give its best in the next presidency of the Council of the Islamic Parliamentary Union during its 13th round.  UAE’s presidency of the Union will last for a year. The Islamic Inter-Parliamentary Union made of members of the Organisation of the Islamic Conference (OIC) had approved the designation of FNC Speaker Al Ghurair to chair the Union as the successor of Dr Ali Larijani. In his first statement made to the Emirates News Agency (WAM) after being chosen as the Head of the Islamic Inter-Parliamentary Union, Al Ghurair said he would do his utmost to improve the performance and effectiveness of the Union.
