With reference to the report ‘Ugly scenes mar DU seminar’ (Hindustan Times, November 7), the logic of protest by ABVP activists against presence of Professor SAR Geelani doesn’t hold ground as Savarkar, who was also an accused in the assassination of Mahatma Gandhi, has always been glorified by the Sangh Parivar. We all know that Savarkar was acquitted on technical grounds of the charge of killing Mahatma Gandhi. Justice Kapur Commission had later squarely implicated Savarkar as the man who inspired the heinous killing. But despite this Savarkar’s portrait was installed in the Parliament House.
