Dr. Zakir Naik, at the United Kingdom’s move for barring his entry, has decided to sue against Britain’s department of home affairs to challenge the revocation of his visa and maligning character. Dr. Naik, accompanied by advocate Majid Memon and noted film maker Mahesh Bhatt, made the announcement on June 22. Dr. Naik, a renowned Indian Muslim scholar, was scheduled to leave for UK on June 18. A day before his departure, the British High Commission issued an order revoking his visa, that was valid till 2013, on the grounds that his speeches were not conducive for the people. Dr. Naik alleged that the UK Home Affairs Department’s decision was a political one. “The decision to revoke my visa was preceded by a news article in The Sunday Times on May 30 titled Preacher of Hate.” The article also quoted me out of context, Dr. Naik said.
