The Iranian Embassy in London has told Britain’s top selling populist tabloid to correct its “mistaken identity” of an alleged Iranian ringleader being behind last weekend’s attempted bomb attacks using cars in the UK.
“It is highly expected that the officials involved in reporting the unfounded news to the media make some clarification in this regard,” the embassy said in a letter to the Sun newspaper. Terming this  as an  unprofessional reporting the Embassy opined that this is the result of a propaganda ploy directed at Iran and will only serve the aims of those who want to tarnish the picture of Iran and its stabilising role in the highly sensitive Persian Gulf region. The daily, Sun newspaper, had claimed that the “ringleader of a plot to unleash a blitz of car bombs on Britain is an Iranian doctor arrested with his burka-clad wife.”
