Ulama of Vijayapura Express Concern over Congress Party Ignoring Minority Community

Ulama of Vijayapura have expressed their displeasure over the Congress party’s move to suspend Legislative Council member Abdul Jabbar and remove Nasir Ahmed from the post of Chief Minister’s Political Secretary.

Ulama, including Muhammad Yusuf Qazi, Muhammad Ikhtal Nadaf, Maulana Shafiula Muppi, Maulana Rizwan Tayyabi jointly held a press conference and expressed their deep displeasure that the Congress is showing indifference towards the minority community.

Muhammad Yusuf Kazi said the Ulema delegation had met Siddaramaiah and Mallikarjun Kharge. They were demanding that a minority candidate be given a ticket in Davangere South constituency. In the 2023 elections, the promise made by L.S.Shivashankarappa was reminded, but our society was cheated by giving tickets to his family members. In the 2024 general elections, Shivashankarappa had given a speech asking people to vote for Yediyurappa’s son Raghavendra. He questioned why no action was taken against him.
