The public-insult of slain Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan’s family by VS Achutanandan comments that not even a dog would have gone there if it was not Sandeep Unnikrishnan’s house is really unbecoming from a chief minister. Were all those having gone to Sandeep’s house to attend martyr’s funeral had status of being even less than dogs? To add insult to injury, he initially declined to regret his comments despite requests even from his party cadre. It becomes necessary that Supreme Court/National Human Rights Commission defend the honour of martyrs and public in general, by acting against political rulers like VS Achutanandan and sending a strong message for other unruly politicians.
