Uniform Civil Code

Apparently, it seems to be a good move where the disparity between the rights of both male and female genders are being equated but the question is whether the female and the male genders are equal in every respect and in every perspective?

It’s a matter of grave concern that Uttarakhand has become the first state where the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) has been implemented with a view to provide uniformity in the laws of all religious communities living in the state.

Apparently, it seems to be a good move where the disparity between the rights of both male and female genders are being equated but the question is whether the female and the male genders are equal in every respect and in every perspective?

The implementation of UCC is indirectly an intervention in religious affairs of different communities which will make the laws of the religions null and void. India is a secular country and, in the Constitution, it is clearly mentioned that every citizen of this country is free to profess, practise and propagate the teachings of his/her religion without any trouble. The UCC goes against the principles of Muslim Personal Laws where the moral code of marriage, divorce, inheritance rights and adoption of children as well as the rights of “illegitimate children” have been clearly defined and there is no controversy whatsoever.

The imposition of UCC suggests that the laws of the religions are faulty which a religious person will NEVER accept. The Central government must reflect on the negative aspects of implementation of the UCC before seeking to enforce it all over the country.

Which Star for Budget?

In a budget analysis meeting the speaker asked out of 5 star rating, which star would you give this years’ budget. I would say all budgets would get ‘poll star’. Ultimate objective of all budgets is to get votes, win election and come to power.

Utter Nonsense

According to news published in the print media, US President Donald Trump has said that Jordan and Egypt should take more Palestinian refugees from Gaza to “clean out” the area, which has been converted into a demolition site due to the Israel-Hamas genocidal war.

This is utter nonsense. Instead of asking Egypt and Jordan, he should grant asylum to these refugees in the USA of which is head. How can he ask other countries to accommodate affected poor and stateless persons? He should use his good offices and ask other countries to rebuild Palestine at the earliest by giving enormous help on humanitarian ground.

Trump’s Casual Statement

Mr. Trump has suggested that 1.5 million Gazans should leave their land of ancestors and move to the neighbouring countries, namely Egypt and Jordan.

Both the countries, though the cronies of the West have rejected this absurd suggestion. Jordan is already filled with Palestinian refugees from the first Naqba of 1948, never to be returned to their homeland ever since. Egypt also knows the consequences of opening its borders of Rafah to the Palestinians. Israel will never allow them back to their home of the ancestors.

And why will the Palestinians leave after going through the worst Genocide of the century. They are returning to their homes now in rubbles. After enduring aerial bombardment, which is mindboggling, their resilience is to be saluted.

The aim of the Zionist regime since the last 76 years was to cleanse the land of the indigenous people. The wars, the sufferings, the struggle, the pain is all about that.

Does Mr. Trump think that a casual statement of his would be achieved just like that.

He should remember that he has just been elected to the highest office of a declining super power. He is definitely not ‘god’.
