This refers to the editorial “Ensure Religious Freedom to All Citizens” (Radiance, 15-21 June). The uproar for Uniform Civil Code in a democratic country which has in-built diversity is useless and unfounded. It is also unnatural and unconstitutional. The Constitution has approved of Religious Freedom as a fundamental right. Any attempt to enforce uniform civil code will violate human and Constitutional right and also harm the essence of diversity. If one follows a law in his personal life nobody has any right to seize his liberty. Those who demand uniform civil code must welcome the landmark verdict of the High Court.
