This is apropos of the article “Government Sensitivity Varies from One Issue to Another” in Radiance (29 December-4 January). The writer has rightly said that without building pressure nothing can be expected from political parties. What the political parties care about is their vote banks and they cannot stake the same at any rate especially when the general elections are only months away. Everyone is affected with frequent communal uprisings and it was a great opportunity for the ruling party to heal their wounds. Given its lacking skills of diverting the wind in its favour, the ruling party has missed a golden chance.
