Urdu classes for beginners have commenced in Oman. In a determined bid to promote the language of Urdu, the Urdu Wing of the Indian Social Club took this initiative. The classes commenced on the Indian Social Club premises at Darsait, were inaugurated by Arif Anwarul Haque, an Urdu poet. Presently, one batch has started with another batch scheduled to start from August 1. The classes are, initially, meant for children from age seven and above and being conducted thrice a week (from 4PM-5PM and 5PM-6PM), on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
