It is extremely unfortunate that the Iran war is continuously escalating. The energy crisis in the world is deepening. Especially the economically weaker nations are acutely suffering. If the war continues, there may be a possibility of an economic recession. India, which is still a progressing economy, may face difficult times. Already the country is facing great pressure in industrial output. Worldwide crude and petroleum prices are steadily increasing. Crude which was priced at around $70 is now touching $130 to 140. Factories and manufacturing units are being closed in Gujarat, Haryana and other industrially developed states.
The US and Israel have escalated their attacks on factories, desalination plants, etc. The latest reports (March 29) suggest that several universities, especially science and technology universities in Tehran, Isfahan and other cities have been attacked. Reacting to these attacks on civilian areas and educational institutions, Iran has issued an ultimatum to America to condemn these attacks by 30th Marchmidday. If it does not happen, Iran has warned that it would make retaliatory attacks on educational institutions in Qatar, Kuwait, the UAE, etc. It has asked students and teachers to keep away from their educational institutions.
Meanwhile, marines and paratroopers on board aircraft carriers have arrived in the war zone. This is an indication of ground assault on Iran.
The portents ahead are extremely dangerous for the world peace and future of the entire world. No satisfactory information hasemerged about the peace deliberations in Pakistan. Death and destruction are knocking at the doors of humanity. It is difficult to say whether good sense will prevail, or the war will expand endangering the future of eight billion world population. In the current scenario the UNO is unable to play its role as it has been marginalised by the USA and other dominant nations.Should we hope that good sense will prevail and humanity will avoid collective suicide to prevent loss of all our gains of thousands of years.
At least one good news has emerged from America itself. On March 29 the whole of US population erupted in around 3500 cities and towns of America to demand ouster of Trump government. Let us pray the sensible people in the US and the whole world join hands to save the world from the impending catastrophe.
