The rail tragedy in Bihar which resulted in the death of around 37 pilgrims is distressing. Despite the regulation that crossing the rail tracks is a punishable offence and the instruction from the Railways to use upstairs to cross the track, a number of people can be seen making mockery of the regulations at almost every station. Even at the New Delhi Station the National Capital witnesses thousands violating the regulations under the nose of the Railway Protection Force. The government as well as the commuters should pay heed to this so as to avoid these sorts of incidences. The railways should also build upstairs on the stations where the facility is not available.
