A senior VHP leader has been arrested along with his wife and son in connection with the mysterious death of his daughter-in-law, whose family alleged that she was killed for dowry, reports said quoting police sources on September 14. VHP’s Mirzapur unit president Ashok Jaiswal, his son Sunil Jaiswal and wife have been arrested yesterday from Barkachha locality on the complaints of his daughter-in-law Ruby Jaiswal’s family, they said. Abhay Jaiswal, brother of Rubi (24), who was found hanging from the ceiling fan in her room, alleged that she was first strangled to death and then her body was hanged. He said Ruby’s in-laws were demanding Rs 1 lakh as dowry for the past one year but due to their weak financial condition they failed to pay the amount and thus she was killed by them, he said.
