A largescale audit of Waqf property records in Uttar Pradesh has led to the rejection of over 12,000 registrations during the ongoing digitisation process. Officials reviewed nearly 1,00,000 entries uploaded on the Umeed portal and found widespread data entry errors and incomplete documentation.

Lucknow recorded the highest number of rejected entries at 1,114. Bijnor followed with 1,003, while Saharanpur reported 990. Other districts include Barabanki with 577 and Amroha with 85. Baghpat and Bareilly showed lower figures at 60 and 17 respectively.

Board sources said the affected properties include mosque lands and graveyards, with some areas exceeding 300 acres. Graveyards form the largest share of rejected entries, followed by mosques. Madrasas, Idgahs, Imambaras, Dargahs, and some residential and income-generating properties also appear in the rejected list.
