What does “Acche din” mean? Whether it is the name of inflation or vandalism against minorities? During the election campaign, our Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi – “a man of development” – kept criticising the then government on price hike. He promised people the sweet dream of “Acche din”. But the recent increase of 14.2 per cent in rail fare is no less than a nightmare. Soon after forming government, price has been hiked and a Muslim youth has been beaten to death in Pune. I’m totally confused to understand the meaning of “Acche din”.
