According to Myanmar Ambassador Zin Yaw, what has happened recently in the Rakhine State of Myanmar was violent clashes between Buddhist and Muslims and not one-sided killing of Muslims (Radiance Viewsweekly, 5-11 Aug 2012). According to Yaw, only 79 persons from both the communities have been killed. Terming the photos of mass killings of Muslims as fake, he described the reports baseless.
If we believe the above statement, we ask why the government of Myanmar was lip-tight till date and if the statement was true, the government’s action would have been impromptu. It is not frolic carnage of amusement to say only 79 persons were killed. A fib cannot obscure the verity.
