Kurla police on June 10 lodged a complaint against an unknown caller for allegedly threatening Inder Singh Kirti Singh, witness in advocate Shahid Azmi’s murder case. Singh, who was Azmi’s office boy, had seen Azmi’s killers. Singh, first got the threatening call on June 9, the police said.

The caller reportedly threatened Singh saying, “I know where you and your family members stay. What do you think of yourself?”

The police said when Singh got another call, he approached Azmi’s brother Khalid, who then advised him to lodge a complaint with the police. “We are recording Singh’s statement,” said Vijay Bagwe, senior police inspector of Kurla police station. Singh still works for the family of Azmi, the defence lawyer for 26/11 accused Faheem Ansari, who was shot dead by three men at his office at the in Kurla on February 10.
