Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has said that his government will not tolerate religious hatred and it is committed to maintain communal harmony in the state.

Addressing Christmas celebrations organised by the government at LB Stadium here, he said the government believes in protection of all religious communities.

“The government will not tolerate anyone speaking against another religion. People have the right to follow the faith they believe in. We will not tolerate religious hatred,” he said.

Stating that the role of Christian fraternity in the construction of a healthy Telangana is very important, Revanth Reddy assured the community that the government will provide 100 percent protection to them.

The Chief Minister stated that Jesus Christ gave the message to be affectionate towards neighbours apart from loving self. He noted that the Christian community is competing with the government to provide free education and medical services to the poor. Sometimes, the community provided better quality services than the government and also participated in the construction of society.

He gave the assurance that government will take action to provide Christians their share in the welfare schemes.
