An important meeting of World Urdu Day Organising Committee was held in New Delhi, with senior journalist Jalaluddin Aslam in the chair. The meeting discussed preparations for observing World Urdu Day on Nov. 9, which marks the birth anniversary of Allama Iqbal, continuing the tradition of previous years.
Dr. Syed Ahmad Khan, convener of the World Urdu Day Organising Committee, while highlighting the success of the previously published World Urdu Day Journal, announced that this year’s commemorative journal will focus on the life and contributions of the distinguished journalist Alam Naqvi. He noted that the journals published so far, which document the lives and works of eminent personalities, have archival value.
These personalities include Qazi Muhammad Adeel Abbasi, Dr. Abdul Jaleel Faridi, Allama Muhammad Iqbal, Maulana Muhammad Muslim, Maulana Usman Farqaleet, Mahfuzur Rahman, Maulana Abdul Majid Daryabadi, Maulana Hafizur Rahman Seoharvi, Maulana Sanaullah Amritsari, Maulana Abul LaisIslahi, Maulana Hamid Al-Ansari Anjum, Professor Jagan Nath Azad, Munshi Premchand, Maulvi Ismail Meeruthi, Begum Abul Khair, Maulana Abdul Hameed Rehmani, Maulana Muhammad Baqar Hussain Qasmi, and Maulana Imdad Sabri.
He further announced that the editorial board for the World Urdu Day Journal 2025 will include journalists Suhail Anjum, Javed Akhtar, Mohammad Arif Iqbal, and Tahir Naqvi.
