The move of Delhi Government to ban manual scavenging (Radiance 10-16 March) is to be followed by other states as well, especially north Indian ones. Also the prejudices about the Safai workers should come to an end and they be given equal rights in the society. The Union Government should follow the instructions of the apex court and introduce a bill in the parliament in this regard.
