Clarifying a news item which appeared in the media, based on a UNI report, about suspected SIMI activist Yahya Khan, showing him a worker of Jamaat-e-Islami, M. K. Mohammed Ali, Secretary Jamaat-e-Islami Hind Kerala said, “It is baseless and misleading and UNI itself corrected the report.”
The police report shows that he has not been in Kerala for the last six years and the police is still probing into the information about him. Mr. Ali said that ‘propagating such wrong news is a conspiracy against Jamaat.’
According to a report, his arrest has shocked his friends and relatives in Mukkom, on the outskirts of Kozhikode. “My son is innocent. He is a quiet and reserved boy. I couldn’t believe the police version,” his father Veeran Kutty, a small time trader, said.
