This refers to the Editorial and the article “Save Family from Live-in Relationship” (Radiance 30 June- 6 July). The decree of the Madras High Court on pre-marital sex suggests that “We are undoubtedly moving towards sexual anarchy.” Marriage is not all about physical relationship. What the court would do if a girl/boy is found having the same relationship with more than one? In this case, can a girl have more than one husband according to the court? Running into the footprints of the west in every walk of life cannot go well with India. The country has its own constitution which has its base in the culture and civilisations of its dwellers. The live-in is meant to destroy the family structure of the country. “If live-in is equal to marriage, why then not marry?” Simply because the commitment levels of both the partners are low.
