This refers to your Editorial (Radiance 10-16 November). The Muslim community faces a great dilemma whenever the election time comes. Tall claims of all political parties both national and regional and hopes of the downtrodden community meet the same fate post elections. They put a;; the promises on the backburner until the next elections draw closer. This routine has taken away the interest of a common man in voting. I am a first-time-voter and enthusiastically waiting for the polling dates. But the question – ’whom to vote’ – always bothers me. A report in the same issue of your magazine suggests that one should go for a party which safeguards Constitutional Rights. But, keeping an eye on their previous work, I do not think any of the parties can do this. A united front also seems a distant dream here. In this dilemmatic situation, should I restrain from voting or vote for the least contaminated one? But it will surely encourage them.
