Mohammad Amir, a resident of Bihar Sharif, had been running a small grocery shop for several years. However, due to limited capital, he struggled to meet even the basic needs of his family. Eventually, he approached Zakat CentreIndia (ZCI) – Patna Chapter for financial assistance.

In August this year, the ZCI-Patna disbursed a total of ₹4.3 lakh among 14 beneficiaries, including ₹40,000 granted to Amir. With this support, he expanded his grocery stock and purchased a deep freezer to sell dairy products and cold beverages.

Today, Alhamdulillah, Amir earns around ₹15,000 per month. His family is now financially stable, and he lives with renewed confidence and dignity.

Amir’s story is a shining example of how Zakat, when spent with wisdom and foresight, transforms from simple charity into a source of empowerment and self-reliance.

Established in 2022, ZCI has been institutionalising zakat collection and distribution, focusing on key areas such as poverty eradication, education, and community empowerment. Its mission goes beyond short-term relief. It aims to help beneficiaries become self-reliant and, ultimately, contributors of zakat themselves.

Guided by respected scholars and Muftis across India, ZCI works to empower individuals so that the needy do not remain perpetually dependent on aid. The Centre’s vision is to create sustainable and transparent models for poverty alleviation through purposeful utilisation of Zakat funds.
