Social activist and media analyst Anil Chamadia said that the incidents of Alwar, Rajasthan in which dairy farmers were brutally beaten by cow vigilantes were part of the incidents which are carried out to create division and intimidation in the society. He was addressing a public meet at the headquarters of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind in New Delhi on 8 April.

Calling the incident painful and worrisome, Chamadia, who is Editor of monthly magazine Mass Media said the situation is prevailing today was the same as one year before. At that time it was appearing that this situation will get better. But the recent incidents say that it did not get better. It is getting worse. These incidents are very painful and worrisome. Whatever happened in Alwar is nothing new. It happened in Jharkhand, Una and other parts of the country. In Jhajjar, four Dalits were beaten to death. VHP leader Viraj Kishor gave the statement that the death of many Dalits is nothing in comparison to the death of a cow. These incidents have not any historical significance but it is happening for the last two years.

He further said that all these incidents are happening in BJP-ruled states. We should know the history of those people who are carrying out these incidents. They are the same people who refused to accept the Constitution and called it a lie. They are the same people who had objected to all the programmes conducted for the building of the society. We want rule of law but they are saying that it’s not their constitution.

Explaining the division in the society, he said these various groups like cow protector group, National Anthem Vigilante group and Anti-Romeo Squad have been formed to create division and intimidation in the society. Several institutions are being strengthened to create division. There is a division not only between Hindus and Muslims. There is also communal feeling also among Hindus versus Hindus. For example, Aurangzeb Road was named after APJ Abdul Kalam to create division among Muslims. There is a mind which is working to create division in the society. These are the incidents carried out to create division in the society.

He furthermore said that when people from weaker sections get in a better position, they are attacked. Their source of income is attacked. When they come to equal position, they are attacked. It is not only against Muslims but also against Dalits and other communities. The attack against Sikhs was also part of it. Because, they were in good position financially.
