AMU VC Releases Book on Thidiazuron

ALIGARH June 19: Prof Tariq Mansoor, Vice Chancellor, Aligarh Muslim University released the book, Thidiazuron: From Urea Derivative to Plant Growth Regulator, jointly edited by Dr Naseem Ahmad and Dr Mohammad Faisal and published by the Springer.

ALIGARH June 19: Prof Tariq Mansoor, Vice Chancellor, Aligarh Muslim University released the book, Thidiazuron: From Urea Derivative to Plant Growth Regulator, jointly edited by Dr Naseem Ahmad and Dr Mohammad Faisal and published by the Springer.

The book, comprising 28 chapters, is based on the reports from various national and international laboratories on the use of TDZ in in vitro technology for plant propagation and conservation. The book highlights the role of Thidiazuron in Plant Tissue Culture especially in the commercial propagation, genetic engineering, crop improvement and conservation of various fruit, ornamental, spice, forestry and medicinally important plant species.

Dr Naseem Ahmad, Assistant Professor, Department of Botany, AMU has published 41 research papers in the journals of international repute and nine book chapters with 49 abstracts presented in various conferences. Earlier, he also edited a book titled Plant Tissue Culture: Propagation, Conservation and Crop Improvement (Springer, 2016).

The other editor is Dr Mohammad Faisal, Associate Professor, Department of Botany and Microbiology, King Saud University, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, who received his PhD degree in Botany from the Aligarh Muslim University.
