In order to tackle the ever-increasing cases of family breakdowns, the Mira Road chapter of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind (JIH) organised a two-day walk-in exhibition (Mera Ghar Jannat ki Raah Par) for the public this weekend.

Subtle and attractive models and charts depicting various phases of family life right from selection of the spouse to marriage, from the birth of children to their proper upbringing, issues dealing with the relations of the husband and wife with each other and their in-laws, the Islamic solution to marital discord and inheritance and such important topics were explained to the thousands of men and ladies who visited the exhibition these two days separately in two sessions. The venue also boasted of a book stall featuring English, Urdu and Hindi books on family values for the audience to take back home.

Preceded by a meticulously planned week-long campaign, the appeal to mould our lives according to Islamic teachings was conveyed to tens of thousands of people by means of corner meetings, distribution of pamphlets, hoardings, newspaper announcements and extensive use of the social media.

The secretary of JIH Mira Road, Qazi Muhammad Ataul Haq explained, “This is a humble endeavour by our team to salvage and reinstate proper family values in our society as laid down in the Qur’ān and Sunnah so as to strengthen the family system, and in turn strengthen the society as a whole.”
