The 100th series of daily column written by Mr. Aziz Burney, Group Editor Roznama Rashtriya Sahara, the biggest Urdu daily newspapers group in the country, made history in Urdu Journalism of India when it was released on January 6 in tabloid book form and consisting of 132 pages in three languages i.e Urdu, Hindi, English. This multilingual issue has been dedicated to ATS chief Hemant Karkare who was killed during 26 /11 Mumbai attack and attributed as “Salute to THE MARTYR OF NATION Hemant Karkare”.
First copy of this issue was made public by widow of martyr Hemant Karkare Prof. Kavita Karkare at her residence at Dadar (Mumbai). Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Kavita Karkare said that her husband believed in the philosophy of Sarva Dharm Sambhav and she too, fully subscribe to this ideology. Prof. Kavita Karkare, whom Aziz Burney described as Bhabhi Maa of the nation said that she has studied holy book Qur’an and found that there is no difference between the teachings of Qur’an and Geeta.
Talking to Aziz Burney and others on this occasion, Prof. Kavita Karkare said, “It is wrong to link religion with terrorism because terrorism has no religion. Therefore no religion should be defamed for terrorism.” She appealed to people of India to subscribe to rational thinking. She stressed the need of upholding the secular tradition of country based on the philosophy of Sarva Dharam Sambhav and described her martyr husband as Maha purush but not any god or angel as most of people are describing .
Paying tribute to the efforts of Aziz Burney to seek truth behind death of Hemant Karkare, Asok Kamte, Vijay Salaskar and other police personals on 26/11 through this special issue, well-known film producer and director Mahesh Bhatt said, “This is a very bold issue. It is also a Jehad to show real face of a terrorist.”
Mahesh Bhatt said that if there is a section of Indian society who has doubts over the official version of how the top officers of Mumbai and Maharashtra Police were killed on 26/11, there should not be any hesitation to conduct an impartial enquiry into the killing of these officers. Mahesh Bhatt criticised the people who brand those demanding an enquiry into deaths of Hemant Karkare and others as anti-nationals, helping Pakistan. “This blame and false allegation is a blatant effort to suppress the freedom of expression guaranteed by our Constitution. Even Union Minister A.R. Antulay did not say that Ajmal Qasab and other terrorists are not from Pakistan. “He said that he felt a big conspiracy has engulfed entire region, right from Khaiber to Mumbai, war-mongers are trying to involve India also in Afghanistan crisis which is serving the purposes of those economies which are based on war industries.
Renowned writer and journalist Amaresh Misra supported the views described by the special issue and said that impartial enquiry into death of Hemant Karkare and others is need of hour. “ATS chief Hemant Karkare conducted enquiries into Malegaon Bomb blast case and he was very near to expose the source of finances of Hindutvavadi terrorism The untimely death of Karkare has hampered this task; therefore, an impartial enquiry is necessary,” he said. He described the special issue of Roaznama Rashtriya Sahara as a historical document.
Editorial head Mr. Saeed Hameed & Bureau Chief Mr. Javed Jamaluddin (Mumbai Roznama Rashtriya Sahara,) were also present on this occasion.
