Baithuzzakath Kerala distributed projects of `1.79 crores in a programme held at Town Hall, Kozhikode on June 15. The distribution ceremony was inaugurated by District Collector K.P. Mohan Kumar.  Mr. Kumar said that Zakath rather brings about an all round development of the society than a mere eradication of poverty. Hence Zakath is the most wonderful concept of Islam.  He also added that the scientific method adopted by Baithuzzakath to scrutinise the most deserved is in fact praiseworthy.

The distribution was inaugurated by Adv. T.K. Saidalikutty, Chairman Kerala Waqf Board, and M.K. Muhammadali, Chairman Baithuzzakath briefed the project of the year in the conference presided over by  T.Arif Ali, Ameer  JIH  Kerala.

Baithuzzakath was established in October 2000 under the supervision of JIH Kerala to collect Zakath massively and to distribute it fruitfully. Hence it puts the effective implementation of Zakath to eradicate, as it meant to be, poverty, the biggest crisis of human life and to ensure the primary needs of all meet into practice. Thus Baithuzzakath offers charity and ensures social welfare to the possible extent. Baithuzzakath distributes the collected Zakath among the most deserved.

A steady progress can be found in the number for Zakath donors co-operating with the institution. So is its capacity to help the needy. `5,53,089 was collected during 2000 to 2011 to be distributed  among  54 benefactors whereas `1,73,57,434 in  2011-2012-among 960 benefactors.

Baithuzzakath hitherto is concerned with education, house building, health care, self employment projects, debt relief, drinking water project, marriage, ration, sanitary measures, etc. It is the self employment project aimed at self sufficiency of the benefactors given preference in the last turn. Thus Baithuzzakath endeavours to turn the benefactors into donors next time as the golden age of Islam proved to be.

Baithuzzakath implemented `4400000 for employment projects for the last term.
