The Amir Jamaat-e-Islami Hind Maulana Syed Jalaluddin Omari along with other leaders of the organisation interacted with journalists and expressed his views on different national and international issues at a monthly press meet at JIH headquarters in New Delhi on 1 November.

Talking on missing track of the government, JIH Secretary General Nusrat Ali said it is very unfortunate that the present government is paying little attention to the pledges it made during the election. “The people are waiting so that their problems are solved, they enjoy peace and comfort, see an end to inflation and unemployment. They are waiting to see progress in these fields,” he noted.

In the press meet, the leaders also expressed concern over hate speeches that incite communal riots. “Communal hatred is being spread which is affecting the law and order. The latest riots in Vadodara (Gujarat) and in national capital’s Trilokpuri are the manifestation of this trend,” he added.

On saffronisation of education, the JIH leader condemned it and said it is unconstitutional and we will raise voice against it along with others.

The Jamaat leader also condemned the politics on black money and corruption. “It is very unfortunate that Indian politicians, businessmen, film stars, etc. have stashed about $123 billion (about 3,50,000 crore Indian rupees) in foreign banks in the shape of Black Money,” the JIH leader noted. He also expressed anxiety over the problems and troubles people are facing because of corruption and black money.

On Shahi Imam Bukhari’s invitation to Pakistan premier Nawaz Sharif and neglecting Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi, JIH Amir Maulana Syed Jalaluddin Omari said it is his personal matter and we can’t interfere therein.

Taking serious concern over the crisis and instability in Bangladesh, Mr. Ejaz Ahmed Aslam, National Secretary of JIH, criticised Sheikh Hasina’s atrocities and dictatorial method that is targeting and dismantling opposition to pave the way for her dictatorship. “The names of Jamaat leaders who are being sentenced to life and death penalties had never been in the list of accused even immediately after the end of war of independence. This is being done with political vendetta and at the instance of anti-Islam forces,” he noted.

The Jamaat-e-Islami Hind appealed to the governments and human rights organisations of the world “to raise their voice against these atrocities in Bangladesh”. It also prayed to Almighty Allah to shower His mercy and forgiveness on the Islamic leaders such as martyr Abdul Quadir Mullah, late Ghulam Azam and Mutiur Rahman Nizami.
