British Indian Muslims have strongly condemned the issuance of entry visa to one of the Babri mosque demolishers, Sadhvi Rithambara who arrived in Birmingham on September 21.

Liberhan Commission, appointed by the Indian Government to investigate the demolition of 16th Century Babri Mosque by Hindu militants, has held Sadhvi Rithambara and other 67 Hindu leaders guilty of demolition of the mosque and the subsequent violence that killed some 3,000 people across India. The priestess is also being investigated for her links with various bomb blasts carried by extremist Hindu organisations in India.

“The permission to a known terrorist like the so-called priestess to enter into Britain and address public meetings is outrageous, shameful and shocking despite the fact that we had already drawn Home Secretary Theresa May’s attention towards Sadhvi’s blatantly anti-Muslim and anti-Christian activities in India as we had done on her previous visit in 2007 by writing to the then Home Secretary Ms Jacqui Smith.” Chairman of Council of Indian Muslims—UK (CIM), Munaf Zeena said in a statement on September 23.

“Before Sadhvi, Chief Minister of Gujarat, better known as the Butcher of Gujarat, was allowed to be welcomed in 2003. Prior to that in 2002, soon after the massacre of Muslims in Gujarat, red carpet reception was given to L.K. Advani.

“This is nothing but sheer disregard to the souls of those killed in the massacres engineered by Hindutva fascists, insensitivity to the feelings of their relatives and blatant encouragement to anti-Muslim and anti-Christian terrorism in India. We protest against and deplore it in the strongest possible language.”
