Jamaat-e-Islami Hind has stressed on the need to maintain cordial and peaceful relations with the neighbouring countries which is essential for world peace.  The JIH leaders were addressing a press conference at its headquarters in the capital on 4 May.

Speaking on the present hostile relations between India and China over border dispute,EjazAhmed Aslam, Secretary, JIH said it is not in the interest of a country to make a mountain out of a molehill.  Instead of talking of any military response allthe diplomatic channels should be used to solve any dispute with mutual dialogue, instead of adding fuel to the fire. He also expressed concern that if the relations between these two countries deteriorates further thenit would eventually lead to arms race and more money will be spent on defence and because of that poor people are likely to suffer more.

The other important issue which was raised in the monthly press meet was the death of Indian prisoner Sarabjit Singh and retaliatory attack on Sanaullah, a Pakistani prisoner, in Jammu jail. Jamaat-e-Islami termed the attack on Sarabjit as an unfortunate incident and condemned the Pakistani authority for the gross dereliction of duty.

Maulana Jalaluddin Omari, while talking to mediapersons, said justice should be done at all places either in Pakistan or in India because human life is important and even prisoners should be treated in a humane manner as per the law of the land and keeping in mind protectionof human rights of one and all. He also expressed concern over the double standard of the government, media and people in their approach towards Sarabjit Singh and Qateel Siddiqui, whowas killed in Yerwada Jail in Pune in 2012.

Even after national outrage and countrywide protest over sexual crimes nothing much has changed and everyday one can hear that such crimes are taking place across India in a repeated manner. The Jamaat is of the view that such crimes or incidents cannot come to an end unless and until all the factors that lead people to commit sexual crimes are banned. In this regard, the Jamaat also feels that it is the responsibility of the people to adopt and promote purdah, impart moral education and at the same time free mixing of men and women should not be encouraged.

The Jamaat has also demanded from the Akhilesh government of Uttar Pradesh to present its report on the actions taken on the Nimesh Commission Report. The government must release all innocent Muslims as promised by Samajwadi Party in its election manifesto.
