There are now over 48 titles on Islam in Japanese. Islamic Center-Japan has been distributing a book by Dr. Sanada Head, Department of Law, Chuo University on Islamic law for the last 15 years. An increasing number of Non-Muslim Japanese scholars, who are basically pro-Islam and pro-Muslims, are writing on the subject and creating a favourable atmosphere.

Almost all Muslim Japanese scholars have gathered on the platform of Japan Muslim Association (JMA).  With the support of Rabitah Al-Alam-Al-Islami, i.e. World Muslim League, Saudi Arabia, JMA has published and re-published several times the only available authentic Japanese translation of the holy Qur’an by late Haji Umar Mita.

Rabitah published the Jaapanese translation ans thousands of its copies have been reprinted by JMA.  A paperback version and a hard-cover version are both available with Arabic text

In addition to the authentic holy Quran translation, JMA has also translated and published Sahih Muslim in two volumes (without Arabic text) and published two original books about the four Caliphs, Khulfa-e-Rashedeen.

Tafseer Jalalain along with original Quran’s Arabic text has been translated by a Muslim Japanese lady in 3 volumes.  Despite being a patient of some kind of slow cancer, she has completed the translation of the holy Quran along with its Tafseer Jalalain. She studied in Cairo for several years and now is housewife of a Muslim Japanese scholar, Dr. Hasan Nakata.  Both are members of JMA.  Her husband, now a professor in Kyoto, has also studied in Cairo for several years and has written several voluminous books explaining Islam in its true color. He is also publishing a newsletter style magazine of about 8 pages in Japanese at his own personal expenses and posting it to almost all Japanese Muslims. It contains translations of some parts of Holy Quran, Hadith Sharif and their explanations and publishes letters and writings of other Japanese young Muslims.  My son Ibraheem has also got some of his articles and comments published in that magazine.

Sulaiman Hamanaka is a Japanese Muslim scholar, is managing a Japanese Islamic Web site, which is very popular among the Japanese Muslims. Several hundred Japanese Muslims daily visit his site.  Thousands of Japanese Muslim wives of Pakistanis and other Muslims visit this site to read the holy Quran and discuss matters of mutual interest with each other.
