Despite many shortcomings, India has the potential to grow but it can only grow significantly when there is peace and stability at local and national levels. India can only develop through pluralism and inclusiveness,” said Ejaz Ahmed Aslam, Editor-in-Chief of Radiance Viewsweekly while speaking at a weekly meet organised by Jamaat-e-Islami Hind at its headquarters on 23 September.

Speaking on ‘Muslims’ Strategy for Coping with the Present Circumstances’, Aslam asked the community and the religious leaders to narrow down differences, if any, and work together for the larger interests of the community. He emphasised that special attention should be given to education which is the only way to move forward and become self-reliant under every circumstance. While citing the example of the spectacular result of this year civil services exams and the performance of Muslim students, he said students can perform better by overcoming all odds.

On the present atmosphere, the Editor-in-Chief of Radiance Viewsweekly said that the situation is very alarming and all efforts are being made to corner Muslims through various terms and issues. It has been a strategy to keep the Muslims in ghettos and do little Muslim concentration areas otherwise the findings of the Sachar Committee Report would have been certainly different.

On the growth story of India, he said India had impressive growth story in terms of world production percentage which has gone down substantially and year after year the country has come down on Human Development Index and there is great income disparity between haves and have-nots.

On the need of the hour, he said that the community should have firm belief in Almighty because He is the only saviour and protector and can guide us to the right path. We have to bridge the differences and nurture and promote youth with special emphasis on education and character building with the blend of humanity, morality and compassion.
