Riots cause destruction of lives and properties. In the modern age riots are employed as a means to pursue political goals and hence they are properly planned and executed to perfection. Shops and properties of the minority community are targeted so as to bring the community economically down. The way the recent Faizabad riots happened once again points out that it was well-planned; in fact, some of the reports have confirmed it. Though the government announces compensation to the victims yet in most cases the compensation remains far less than the actual destruction.
