Dr. Abdul Haq Ansari Led Life Of A Daee

A condolence meeting on the sad demise of Dr. Abdul Haq Ansari was organised in the conference hall of Idara-e-Tahqeeq-o-Tasneef, Aligarh on October 10. The meeting was attended by many renowned personalities and students and teachers of Aligarh Muslim University. They expressed their feelings and narrated their experiences with Dr. Ansari.

A condolence meeting on the sad demise of Dr. Abdul Haq Ansari was organised in the conference hall of Idara-e-Tahqeeq-o-Tasneef, Aligarh on October 10. The meeting was attended by many renowned personalities and students and teachers of Aligarh Muslim University. They expressed their feelings and narrated their experiences with Dr. Ansari.

Mr. Ejaz Ahmed Tirmizi said he got an opportunity to remain closely associated with Dr. Ansari in Saudi Arabia for about 10 years. He was a good organiser who loved people around him and was as affectionate to the young people as a father. He had the capability to see the potential of people.

Professor Mohammad Saud Alam Qasmi said Dr. Ansari led a life of a Daee and was an academic. He was loving and kind and was soft when it came to talking and was hard when it came to act.

Professor Yaseen Mazhar Siddiqui said Dr. Ansari’s knowledge was vast and his morals were also sky-high. He was an expert on Sufism, philosophy, etc., however he did not have even the slightest of arrogance in his attitude. His death is a great loss of knowledge.

Maulana Sultan Ahmed Islahi said Dr. Ansari was a great scholar and it is very fortunate that Maulana Maudoodi got people of such stature for the service of Islam. The library of Centre for Religious Studies and Guidance is in itself a topic of research.

Professor Ehtasham Ahmed Nadwi said, ‘Dr. Ansari was a great planner. Besides being Ameer Jamaat, Dr. Ansari used to do local activities with proper planning and never showed any slack in it,’ said Professor Mohammad Idrees (Ex-Local Ameer) and Dr. Safdar Sultan Islahi (Present Local Ameer). Mr. Mohammad Muqeem and Dr. Mohammad Hamidullah narrated their experiences with Dr. Ansari.

In the presidential speech, Dr. Muhammad Nejatullah Siddiqi highlighted many hidden aspects of the life of Dr. Ansari. ‘During student days Dr. Ansari used to spend a lot of time in study. He was known as a serious student among the peers. He had massive potential and because of this he decided to leave modern education and headed for Islamic education and enrolled himself in Thanwi Darsgah, Rampur. He took many major decisions. He was upset because of certain things and wanted to plan things anew,’ said Dr. Nejatullah Siddiqui. ‘He picked Sufism as a subject in certain background and he was brainstorming to make changes in the present model of the research institutions of Jamaat,’ he added.
