Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, during a press conference in the capital on January 4, expressed deep concern over the manner in which the Uttar Pradesh government handled the riot victims and said the self acclaimed protectors of minority rights have bulldogged them out of the relief camps only to deny them their genuine rights. JIH also welcomed the changing political scenario and cautioned the people against sexual anarchy and human degradation.
Ejaz Ahmed Aslam, Secretary, JIH while addressing the press meet, said that in the last four months, the way the Uttar Pradesh government tackled the riot victims is deplorable and forceful eviction of victims from the relief camp in such chilling winter is brazenly inhuman and highly condemnable. The Central government also did nothing to intervene except sending letters to the Government of Uttar Pradesh. The court has acted to some extent but has not been able to put the pressure required to force the government to deliver justice.
In the last sixty years, riots have occurred at frequent intervals only because the real culprits are seldom brought to book which is poisonous and dangerous for the country, its future and social justice. JIH has demanded to punish the guilty and to solve the problems of riot victims and rehabilitate them.
Nusrat Ali, Secretary General of the organisation, while replying to a question, said that no doubt the issue that was raised by the new emerging party AAP is noteworthy and highly appreciating, their success has set a new dimension in our political system which is good for the country and people will judge them from their performance and have great expectations from the party. In the press meet, it was felt that the emergence of AAP has rekindled hope and aspirations in the marginalised sections and is most likely to emerge as a new alternative for those disenchanted with the existing political system.
JIH has strongly objected to efforts made by some to legalise live-in-relationship and homosexuality and said that if such practices are allowed to continue keeping on the backburner the social and ethical norms then cases of rape, adultery, fornication, incest, paedophilia, pre-and extra marital sex, debauchery and hedonism will increase and deadly diseases like AIDS will engulf the society. JIH has called upon the civil society to oppose such unnatural behaviour and save the country and society from further human and moral degradation.
