Former Naib Ameer JIH, Siddiq Hassan Inaugurates Tafheem ul Qur’ān Software in Malayalam

The second version of the computer software of the famous Qur’ānic exegesis “Tafheemul-Qur’ān” by renowned Islamic scholar Syed Abul Aa’la Maudoodi in Malayalam was released at Kozhikode, Kerala by Prof. K. A. Siddiq Hassan, former Naib Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, recently.
The software is equipped with latest innovation in terms of technology, information exchange and user friendliness, said Prof. Siddiq, while inaugurating the function. Jamaat-e-Islami Hind Kerala chapter Ameer, M.I. Abdul Azeez presided over the launching function.
Director of D4Media, V.K. Abdu, explained novel features of the application. Dr. E.K. Muhammed Kutty, E. K. M. Pannoor, Eng. Mammad Koya, C. T. Sakeer Hussain, T. K. Ubaid, C. Dawood, Safiya Ali, Rukhsana, C. K Muhammed and Najeeb delivered their felicitation addresses. The function was opened with verses from the Qur’ān by Anas Padanna and was concluded by K.A. Nasar.
Tafheemul-Qur’ān Malayalam Software: Milestones and Features:
The idea to propagate Islamic ideology through digitisation of the renowned Qur’ānic exegesis “Tafheemul-Qur’ān” by Syed Abul A’ala Maudoodi was initiated by D4Media in June 2013. The initiative has undertaken a landslide journey with major updates and changes in the latest new version since its inception.
• The first version was utilised by more than 100,000 people. The new version had already received 40,000 pre-publication bookings.
• The application includes recitation of three famous scholars.
• Integrated audio for full translation of verses and explanations including footnotes. Any section displayed on the screen can be played out as audio by a simple click.
• Preferred part of the Qur’ān and its translation can be played out in an orderly fashion.
• The new version features the entire exegesis translated into English as well, targeting specifically at students of all levels.
• Optimised for use in Windows 7 and Windows 10. Also works seamlessly in Linux and Mac operating systems.
• Any text part can be copied and exported to other supporting applications.
• Printable format for any section of the text in the application.
• Sticky note feature to add comments and annotations that can be retrieved later.
• Bookmarking feature to resume reading from where you stopped.
• Multi-language support for interchanging the menu and application language with a single mouse-click.
• Accessibility options to increase font size of Malayalam, English and Arabic texts.
• Subject based search options in Qur’ānic text and descriptions, advanced search based on linguistic denominations are some of the few latest features.
• Word-by-word meaning of the Qur’ānic text is especially designed to be helpful for Qur’ān study circles.
• The progress-of-learning and mapping systems are specifically designed so that the user can keep track of his learning pace.
• The quiz applet called “Prashnothari” is such a progress tracking tool. Questions are fielded from a bank to map your pace of development.
• An illustrative ‘drag-and-drop’ game has also been included to make the experience lively, enjoyable and informative.
• A section to grasp memorisation of Qur’ānic verses by the user has also been incorporated into the application.
• The upcoming versions of the software shall include web, Android and IOS apps owing to enormous volumes of request from various sources.
•The K.I.G. (Kerala Islamic Group) team from Saudi Arabia has been instrumental in making this initiative a huge success.
