Islamic Study Circle, Shaheen Bagh, New Delhi organised a workshop for Working Professionals at Jamaat-e-Islami Hind headquarters on December 26, 2010. The theme of the workshop was “Fa Firru Ilal’lah (Rush towards Allah)”.

There were two sessions in the span of four hours which was scheduled to begin at 12:00pm and end at 4:00pm.

The first session commenced with Dars-e-Qur’ān by Er. Z.A Mansoori. Unlike the conventional method of Dars-e-Qur’ān, selected verses from different chapters were pooled in which projected status and duty of the Ummah, its responsibility to be witness unto mankind, to strive collectively and be steadfast in the way of Truth.

In this backdrop the speaker stated that Iqbal’s couplet “Meri Zindagi Ka Maqsad Tere Deen ki Sarfarazi / Main Isiliyae Musalmaan, Main Isiliyae namazi” explains the Aim of Life of a Muslim in a nutshell.

Post-salaah and lunch the session resumed at 2:15pm with a discussion on “Aim of My Life and Future Plan”. Thirteen individuals were randomly picked up to express their views on the theme in 4 min slot each.

In his presidential address, Mr. Mohsin Anees said that prime objective of life should be to attain Allah’s Pleasure which is the ultimate success. He also highlighted that without Ilm and sacrifice the prime objective could not be achieved.

This session ended with Hamd recited by Hilal Mushtaque, a member of Islamic Study Circle.

The next session began at 3:15pm with a Question hour.

Ml. Tabarakullah Qasmi, Dr. Waquar Anwar and Mr. Javed Ali were on the panel to answer the questions.

Questions raised included the practical issues being faced in professional work environment and those dealing with challenges of financial matters in the corporate world.

The concluding phase consisted of Resolution and Summarisation.

A Resolution was adopted, the content of which was read out and delegates raised slogan of  ALLAH Hu AKBAR in support of the same.

Mr. Javed Iqbal summarised the proceeding, highlighting important points raised during different slots.

The Workshop for GenNext came to an end with dua.

RESOLUTION

The text of the Resolution is as under:

A year is closing and a new year is ensuing. At this juncture of our life-span we ponder over our future plan with the resolve to excel in all our endeavours.

While planning our resolutions for the coming year and the years ahead we assess our position and conclude that:

  1. We belong to a particular profession and so we resolve to excel in our academic pursuits and professional career so that we can serve in the best manner personal ambitions in life including addressing to the needs of our family, community, nation and the humanity at large. In a highly competitive market we are required to keep at bay any complacence and be always alert to the increasing demands of our respective fields of activities. We resolve to face these challenges in a positive manner and emerge as successful persons bringing glory to our family, community and nation.
  2. We are Muslims and so our mission is to lead a life as good human beings, adhering to the calls of our religion. This necessitates that we should have proper knowledge of the requirements of Islam from us. We endeavour to broaden the base of our study of Islam and translate the knowledge so gained in practice. So we resolve to be good practising Muslims.
  3. We have to provide testimony of our faith for persons belonging to other paths through both our words and deeds. We resolve to propagate Islam in the best possible manners. As our fellow colleagues always ask questions about our faith and practices, we resolve to gather required correct information about the issues so raised for discussion so that we may satisfy such professional colleagues and friends. Islam requires us to be its ambassadors before other persons and we resolve to perform this task in the best possible manner.
