Madiha Afshan of Davangere has been elected president of Girls Islamic Organisation Karnataka for the second consecutive term. The Advisory council members elected their new president for the term Jan 2012 to Dec 2013. A grand 2-day state conference was organised under the Central Theme, Ar Rif’atu Lana Fid Dunya – Wal Aaqibatu Fil Aakhira – Glory for us in the world and Success in the hereafter, at Bangalore on Jan 7 and 8. Around 800 students and young women from across the state participated. Before the election of the President, the following advisory council members were elected for the term Jan 2012 to Dec 2013: Qamarunissa (Mangalore), Zaheda Anjum (Hubli), Rabiya Khanum (Gulbarga), Farha Khalid (Bangalore), Mohsina Zarrin (Manvi), Tayyaba Kausar (Teerathalli), Saba Habeeb (Bidar), Afrah Nishat (Bangalore), Seema Kausar Choudhry (Hubli), Tabssum Sanadi (Belgaum), Sadiya Baseerath (Bangalore).
