The Hindi translation of Maulana Syed Abul Ala Maudoodi’s popular Qur’ānic exegesis or tafseer of the Qur’ān – Tafheem-ul-Qur’ān Part VI was released in a ceremony held at the Jamaat-e-Islami Hind (JIH) headquarters on September 7. Maulana Maudoodi’s tafseer of the Qur’ān consists of six volumes. With the release of Hindi translation of the sixth part of this tafseer, the Hindi translation of this tafseer is now complete.

Speaking on the occasion, JIH President Syed Sadatullah Husaini called conveying the message of the Qur’ān to our fellow countrymen who know Hindi a great task. Lauding the publisher Islami Sahitya Prakashan, translators and all the people who contributed to performing this great service, Mr. Husaini prayed to Allah to give them best reward for their efforts. Expressing hope that the benefit of this Hindi translation of the Tafheem-ul-Qur’ān reaches as many people as possible, the JIH President reminded that all of us have a responsibility to make every effort for it.

It is worth mentioning that Maulana Maudoodi is one of the international Islamic scholars of the 21st century. The first King Faisal Prize was awarded to Maulana Maudoodi in 1979 for his service to Islam. His famous Qur’ānic exegesis Tafheem-ul-Qur’ān has deeply influenced the modern Islamic world, which significantly helps modern educated people and new generations to understand the Holy Qur’ān.  It has been translated into various languages ​​of the world and now its Hindi translation has been completed. It was published by Islami Sahitya Prakashan, New Delhi. The Islamic world has been greatly benefited by his volumes of literature, covering a range of disciplines.

Addressing the ceremony, Maulana Naseem Ahmed Ghazi Falahi, Director of Islami Sahitya Prakashan praised Allah for blessing them to successfully completing this great work of Maulana Maudoodi. He said, “The work of Hindi translation was started twelve years ago. Five volumes have already been published and the sixth volume is being released today. Simple and common words have been used in the translation. Many references to Hadiths have been added. In the same way, its index has been rearranged afresh.” He expressed gratitude to all the people who contributed to and extended cooperation in completing the great work.
