Hyderabad Muslim Welfare Association (HMWA) hosted a grand and traditional annual Iftar get-together, at Salmiya Kuwait on 5 June. The programme was well attended by more than 400 people, including ladies. The programme started at 5:45 pm. with recitation of the Holy Qur’ān by Master Hani Khazi. Gen. Secy HMWA Mubeen Ahmed initiated the programme. Distinguished guests from Kuwait, Mr Asad Khan, owner Kuwait Swedish Co., Mr. Kareem Irfan, Engr. Aslam Imadi, Baber Mirza, and Ibrahim Ali Khan graced the occasion.
Iqbal Qureshi, Dr Mushtaq and Hamed Ur Rahman and prominent personalities from Hyderabad shared the dais and hailed the activities carried out by HMWA. FIMA General-Secretary Hidayatullah and President Ifthekhar Ahmed were also present to grace the occasion.
Mr Iqbal Qureshi, Dr Mushtaq and Aslam Imadi delivered special speeches highlighting the importance of preserving and maintaining unity and solidarity among our Ummah. They also congratulated all the members for conducting this programme and extended Ramadhan Greetings
Famous visiting Guest Speaker, Ejaz Ahmed Aslam, who is Editor-in-Chief of New Delhi based Radiance Viewsweekly captured the attention of all the attendees. He said Ramadhan is the month of revelation of the Qur’ān and the Qur’ān is guidance for all humankind as it shows the straight path to all whoever seeks its guidance. He applauded the continual efforts of HMWA for the betterment of the community in general and all Indians and Hyderabadis in particular. He said Allah doesn’t want to save food by making us hungry rather wants us to fear him; this is Taqwa. Ramadhan is the month of Dua, therefore one should make lots of Duas. It is a month of sympathy and charity and forgiveness; therefore, get your sins forgiven by Allah during this month.
Another speaker Mr Nisar Ahmed, a famous Khateeb from Kuwait, captured the audience with his remarkable and thought-provoking speech on Ikhlaq of Rasool Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be to him). Finally Mushtaq Ahmed extended vote of thanks. President Abdul Azeem was the convenor of the program me.
All volunteers worked diligently to make the programme successful. President Abdul Azeem and all EC members Aves Ansari, Mushtaq Ahmed, Tariq Iqbal Saeed, Masih Uddin, Abdur Rahman Zubair and Abdul Jabbar Shakeel were also present and volunteered the programme with their hard work. Delicious iftar and Hyderabadi dinner was served by senior executive member Haji Abdul Kareem Tariq Iqbal and his team.
