To popularise the message of peace and humanity, as part of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind’s 15-day nationwide Peace and Humanity campaign, the Malwani (Mumbai) unit of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind staged a human chain. Donning the apparels of Hindu, Muslim, Sikh and Christian, the activists of Students Islamic Organisation of India (SIO) conveyed the message of universal brotherhood: Insaniyat ka Ek hi Nara – Bhaichara, Bhaichara! (Only one message of humanity – Brotherhood, Brotherhood!).

On this occasion, social activist Hement Sankhe; Principal of Appeal School, Mrs. Parveen; and local Ameer of JIH Malwani Humayun Shaikh addressed the gathering and appealed to them to disseminate the much-wanted message of peace and love. They also underlined the need for regular communication between the various communities at the social level to thwart the attempts at polarising the communal situation in the vicinity.
