“It is the duty” of a nation to plan and struggle for the implementation of its national development. With these words Dr. Abdul Majeed Khan, senior psychiatrist and president of the AP Chapter of Human Welfare Foundation, addressed the inaugural meeting held at Madina Education Centre Auditorium Nampally, Hyderabad on June 7. He said the purpose of this meeting is to motivate the people to come forward and initiate action in this direction since motivation is very important to effect changes. All the nations which are developed had planned at a very early stage for their national progress and development. The nation, which aims at its development, engages the resources of its qualified persons and their energies for this cause. He hoped that the AP Chapter of the Foundation would surely succeed in its efforts.
Professor Mohammed Sulaiman Siddiqui, Ex-Vice Chancellor, Osmania University and member of the Foundation, expressed that without educational progress no nation had bettered its future prospects. A nation which does not know the art of changing as per the demands of the day always lags and loses the chances to progress. Today is an era in which a student, who studies hard, can expertise in many fields of knowledge. Many other nations of the world are striving hard and are benefitted with this principle. He described the programme of the Foundation as hopeful.
Mr. Akbar Ali Khan, Vice Chancellor, Telangana University, and Member of the Foundation, expressed that the different governments have chalked out schemes for minorities and have allotted funds in their budgets, but it is highly sorrowful that the funds have not been utilised and returned to the state treasury. The main reason is that minorities are kept in the dark about these schemes. He hoped that the Foundation would also strive to remove the lack of information about these schemes and make the minorities to come forward and get benefits of these schemes.
Mr. Zaheer Ali Khan, Managing Editor of the Urdu Daily Siasat and Member of the Foundation, said the schemes of the Central and State Governments are fully benefiting other Backward classes but it is unfortunate that the same benefits are not accessible to minorities and the allotted funds are not utilised.
Maulana Mufti Sadiq Mohiuddin Faheem of Jamia Nizamia, and Member of the Foundation, stated that the best among the Muslim community is one who strives to benefit others. He expressed his pleasure that the AP Chapter of Human Welfare Foundation has included such eminent personalities of Hyderabad as Dr. Majeed Khan, Prof. Suleman Siddiqui, Prof. Akbar Ali Khan, Mr. Zaheer Ali Khan, Mr. Syed Azmathullah, IAS, Justice E Ismail, etc. who owed the trust and expertise with them. It is a surety and guarantee for its success and beneficial for the national cause. He assured his co-operation and expressed his well wishes.
Justice E. Ismail said that the Foundation has planned developmental activities in the important fields of Education, Economy, Health and Hygiene of human beings. He said these fields are such that planned and concerted efforts would, God willing, bring about a great change. He assured his further co-operation and spending of time and energies in the matter.
Mr. Syed Azmathullah, I.A.S, expressed that to link the youths with job-oriented activities is a great service and need of the hour. Since education has severed links with enterprise, jobs and economical activity, after completion of education it has become difficult to get a job and a crisis is generated. He highlighted the importance of vocational education and training.
Mr. Abdul Jabbar Siddiqui, General Secretary of Human Welfare Foundation of AP Chapter stated that national building is not a temporary or short-term work but it requires continuous efforts of one or two generations. It required solid human efforts, human and material resources, selfless efforts and courageous leadership. The AP Chapter intends to open educational institutions, vocational training schools, multi-specialty hospitals which charge nominal fees, interest-free co-operative societies, etc. He appealed to the intellectuals and philanthropists to come forward and help in rebuilding the nation.
Moulana Abdul Azeem commenced the programme with the recitation of the Holy Qur’ān. Dr. Faheemuddin Ahmed, Assistant Professor Maulana Azad National Urdu University, addressed the welcome speech while Mr. Abdul Aziz expressed the vote of thanks. A large number of dignitaries from Hyderabad and adjoining districts of AP attended the meeting.
