In a world of more than 200 million orphans, the Human Welfare Foundation, New Delhi Orphan Care Department celebrated the 15th day of Ramadan (3 July) as the World Orphan Day to declare their solidarity with the orphans. Some international humanitarian relief organisations like IHH Turkey recognised the 15th of Ramadan as the World Orphan Day since 2014.

Human Welfare Foundation conducted Iftar parties in three orphanages such as Jammu Kashmir Yatheem Khana, Srinagar; Ansar Orphanage, Warangal, Telangana and Ashiyana Shelter Home Wasco, Goa on the World Orphan Day. HWF representatives were together with the orphan children to make them happy by sitting with them at the same Iftar table on the World Orphan Day.

Mr. Abdul Jabbar Siddiqui, General Secretary of Human Welfare Foundation AP Chapter; Mr. Rizwan Rafeeqi, Manager, Public Relations Department; Mr. Zahoor Ahmed, Assistant Manager, Scholarship Department; and Mr. Abdul Wahab, Coordinator, Human Welfare Foundation Goa Orphanage participated in the programmes in different orphanages.

“Human Welfare Foundation Orphan Care Department aims to provide sustainable, permanent, and solution-orientated social welfare for orphan children. We are also planning to organise activities including social responsibility projects and awareness-raising campaigns in order to earmark problems orphans face to inform international public opinion. To offer our orphans positive life changes, to assist them in becoming mentally and physically healthy individuals and to prepare them for the future are our main aims. We see that improving the situations and standards of the orphanages around the country is the main condition in order to reach that objective,” said Mishab Irikkur, Assistant Manager, Orphan Care Department of Human Welfare Foundation.
